Located at an elevation of 14,107 feet, Bhrigu Lake is hidden amidst Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu District: soon to be discovered by you! Remaining frozen for around half the year, even within the summer, the glacial lake provides a picture perfect icy experience. Situated to the east of the Rohtang Pass, there are many myths and folklore surrounding Bhrigu Lake, upheld by the local communities. Traverse virgin forest, lush green meadows and surreal views of the surrounding valleys like Solang and Hanuman Tibba. This easily accessible route is perfect for the beginner’s first snow trek.

Day 01: Manali
Report to base camp by 1100 hrs.
After your initial WPA’s orientation and briefing on your upcoming programme, spend the day at your leisure exploring the town.
Overnight at Naggar Nature Base Camp, Manali
Day 02: Manali to Rola Kholi
We will start early and travel by road to Gulaba Village. After a quick warm-up we will start trekking towards Rola Kholi (12,500 feet), a scenic campsite, located at the base of Bhrigu Lake. An idyllic spot where water flows all around, it is also popular with shepherds, so you might be sharing your home for the night with a few sheep!

Day 03: Rola Kholi to Bhrigu lake and back to camp
Today’s trek will be steep and long. An early start will allow us to reach next campsite whilst spending some time at Bhrigu Lake. Tucked away under its own peak, Bhrigu Lake (14,000 feet) is a sight to behold. Frozen for most of the year, there is an air of peace and serenity here. From Bhrigu continue on to the rice fields of Pandu Ropa. Set up camp for the night.

Day 04: Rola kholi to Manali
Your last day, during which we will begin our descent, followed by an easy hike. Cross alpine pasture and witness an agricultural existence in India. If you are lucky you may spot the Himalayan Monal, Snow Cock or Khaleej Pheasant, as well as eagles and vultures, soaring up ahead. From here trekkers can choose between descending to 22 more which is an steep decent or Gulaba through the trails.Gulaba is easily accessible from Manali however we provide transport from Gulaba to Manali.
