The easternmost passage along the Pir Panjal range, Hampta Pass is the is the shortest route between the Chandra and Beas rivers and was the favored course before the road over the Rohtang Pass was constructed. Lying between the valleys of Lahaul, Spiti and Kullu it is a picture perfect spot. Beginning in Sethan Village you will follow the Beas River, encountering nomadic tribes, dense forests and pristine meadows, all in a day, before reaching your first camp fo,r the night at Chikka. Continuing your ascent, keen naturalists will notice alpine flowers and lush ferns, before encountering the enormous depression that makes up Balu ka Ghera, a mountain lake that brings us to our second resting point for the night, the scenic Rathan Thali campsite. From here you can watch the sunset over the impressive peaks of the Indrasan, Dev Tibba, and Inder Kila, which reach a height of almost 20,000 feet. The following morning, after an arduous one hour climb, we will reach the Hampta Pass. Congratulated with views of Lahaul and Spiti ahead, it is quite an epic sight to behold. A beautiful descent takes us along the Hampta stream and along the Chandra River.

Day 01: WPA’s orientation at Base Camp
Report to base camp by 1100 hrs.
Reporting point: Nature Camp, Naggar, Manali
After your initial WPA’s orientation and briefing on your upcoming programme, spend the afternoon at your leisure exploring the town.
Our representative will check every trekker's backpacks and you can leave the extra luggage behind. You will have enough time for shopping in case any essential is missing.
If time allows we encourage you to pay a visit to the hidden Jewels of the ancient town Naggar. The King's Palace is now a Heritage Hotel - Naggar Castle build with European and Himalayan Architecture survived many major Earth Quakes.

Day 02: Trek from Base Camp to Chikka via Jobri Nala - Chikka
After an early breakfast and hot chai, we will start our journey with a small noodle ride of an hour to Jorba (9800 feet). Today’s five-hour trek is a leisurely one, through forests maple, deodar, toss, and oak. Immerse yourself in nature, continuing through pristine meadows, crossing the Rani Nallah which runs directly through. You will also witness sheep and cows grazing in the field: a truly pastoral scene. We will set up our camp here, on the banks of Rani River at Chikka (10,400 feet).

Day 03: Chikka to Balu Ka Ghera
Today will be a bit more challenging than yesterday. A seven-hour trek with some boulders and rough terrain, and we will also cross a clear stream waterfall. Jwara is a beautiful scenic sheltered valley, huge snow-clad rocks at one side and the valley drops down to the river on the other side, marks the halfway point of our trek. From here the view is unbelievable.The end of the path is Balu ka Ghera at an elevation of 11,900 feet.

Day 04: Balu Ka Ghera to Hampta Pass and onto Shia Gohru
Wake up at 2 am, for the day has arrived: today we will summit The Hampta pass (14,100 feet). A long day, the first half of which if a moderately steep ascent, we will be on foot for up to ten hours. Our trail follows the river and we make our way approaching towards the mountain across the valley. Surrounded by snow-clad mountains the view is quite spectacular. Take it in, catch your breath, rest and reflect on what you have achieved today, before beginning your steep descent Shia Gohru (12,000 feet). The climb to Hampta Pass is a vertical one and is a hard mount whereas descent is a bit more adventurous and a bit technical.

Day 05: Shia Gohru to Chatru to Chandra Taal Lake
An easy downhill three-hour trek today, from Shia Gohru to Chatru (10,826 feet). We will relax for a bit at our campsite and then follow the trails to leading us to Chandra Taal Lake ( The Moon Lake), witness the paradise on earth, spend time at your leisure.

Day 06: Chatru to Manali
No more early wakeups, this is the last day of our tour. New friends are the close ones now, bid adieu to you friends,the white peaks adventures team.
We will get a four hours drive to reach the dropping point, Naggar Base Camp or Manali.

The itinerary is a guideline and standard pattern which we provide you. This trekking can be modified according to your time and requirements. What we offer here is a combination of tea house and camping trekking which can be modified as well. E-mail us for any customization or special services required.
This trek is to be confirmed at least 10 days prior to trek date depending upon the availability. Making arrangements for trekking is tedious and it demands lot of efforts, so a little co-operation from your side is appreciated. The expenses occurring from the change in schedule due to natural disaster, weather conditions or personal health issues are to be borne by the participants only. The White Peaks Adventures will not be responsible for weather as well as health issues however a medical certificate and a personal observation by the guide will be provided.
In case a participant is not willing to complete the trek, no refund shall be provided and cost of evacuation shall be borne by the participant (required if any).
The Campsites as per the itinerary are subjected to change as per the weather conditions or resource availability and no prior intimation shall be announced to participants.
In case of bad weather, uncontrolled snowfall at Hampta Pass, passing the cross will not be possible and trekkers will be coming back and the number of the tour days remains the same

Distance by road:
Delhi - Manali - Delhi tickets can be booked by White Peaks Adventures at subsidized rates.
Kasol-Manikaran can be reached by getting down at Bhunter which in before Manali (Delhi-Manali route). From Bhunter one can hire a cab or as us to arrange to reach kasol which is a 2 hr journey. Manali is well connected to Delhi. Take an overnight bus from Delhi and you will reach Manali in 12 - 14 hours(approx 540 KMS). Tickets can be booked by White Peaks Adventures (contact us).Since Delhi Manali is a long journey most Volvo private buses leave Delhi between 5 pm and 6 pm. The last govt bus leaves at 8.30 pm from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Volvo buses charges between Rs.1,000 to 1,400 per sector from Delhi to Manali and vice versa as per the season. Manali to Delhi: Like the onward journey, buses leave from Manali to Delhi between 4 and 5 p.m. Your tentative arrival at Delhi may be anywhere between 6 a.m and 10 a.m. Plan your onward journeys only post noon giving enough buffer for bus delay

Nearest Railway Station:
The nearest Railway station is Ambala (350 km) and Chandigarh (310 km). Tip: Regular Volvo and Buses are available from Chandigarh to Manali in the evening. Volvo buses charges between Rs.700 to Rs.1,000 per sector from Chandigarh to Manali and vice versa.
Nearest Airport is Bhuntar is 60 Kms. Bhuntar, which is 52 km away from Manali, is the nearest airport. Taxi services are available from Bhuntar to Manali, which costs about Rs.700 - Rs.1,000. Bhuntar is well connected to Delhi by air. The airliners that take you to this Airport are Indian Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines, MDLR Airlines and Jagson Airlines, operating flights from Delhi and Chandigarh to Kullu.
